Best AI Testing Tools

Engineering and QA leads at web product companies evaluating tools that use AI for test creation, maintenance or failure analysis.

By Testivra Team · Reviewed 2026-10-30 · No hands-on testing

Who this guide is for

This guide is for engineering and QA leads at web product companies who are comparing tools that apply AI to one of three jobs: writing tests, keeping them working after the product changes, or explaining why a run failed.

Each profile states which of those three jobs the vendor's own site describes, what the tool asks of your team, and what its pricing page says. A flaky test, a test that passes and fails on the same code without any change, is one of the problems several vendors below say their AI functions address; where a vendor says so, the profile cites the page.

Tools and managed services with a platform are both included. Managed services are labelled as such in the Type field, because the work your team keeps differs from a tool you operate yourself.

Selection criteria

An entry is profiled only when every criterion below is confirmed on the vendor's own site or, for company facts, by a second source. Entries are listed alphabetically; the order is not a ranking.

  1. The product is a tool the customer operates (not a pure service); managed services with a customer-facing platform are included and labelled as such.
  2. The vendor's own site describes an AI-assisted function in at least one of: test creation, test maintenance, failure analysis.
  3. Web application testing is in scope per the vendor's site.
  4. The product is generally available, in beta, or in early access; stage is labelled from the vendor's own site.
  5. At least two facts about the product come from the vendor's own documentation or product pages.

AI functions
An agent in Automate repairs broken locators at run time; A Test Failure Analysis agent reads test logs, stack traces and screenshots and categorises failures as product, automation or environment issues; Percy's Visual Review Agent gives natural-language summaries of visual changes; A Test Case Generator Agent converts requirements into test cases.[30][29][37][32][36]
Pricing
Automate Desktop from $99/month billed annually; Percy Desktop from $199/month billed annually[23]
Website
www.browserstack.com

Strengths

  • Builds can be organised by build name, tags and project, and flaky tests can be re-run automatically.[26][27]
  • Test Reporting & Analytics flags flaky, always-failing and newly failing tests and analyses logs, stack traces and screenshots.[28][29]
  • Percy captures screenshots, compares them with a baseline and highlights visual changes.[31]

Limitations

  • Automate and Percy run on top of the customer's own test scripts (Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or Storybook); the suite is written by the team.[24][33]
  • Automate plans are priced by the number of parallel tests that can run at the same time.[35]
  • Automate, Percy and reporting are separate products with separate plans on the pricing page.[23][34]

Best-fit scenarios

  • A team already running Playwright or Selenium tests wants screenshot comparison against a baseline on every commit.

Not included and why

  • Checksum. Criterion 4: the vendor site shows no stage label, no published pricing and no self-serve sign-up, so a stage cannot be labelled from the vendor's own site.

How to shortlist

Narrow the list with five questions before booking demos. Answer them for your own team first, then hold each vendor to the same answers.

  1. Which of the three jobs (creation, maintenance, failure analysis) costs your team the most time today?
  2. Who on your team will review generated or updated steps before they count as a passing check?
  3. Does the tool write tests in a framework your engineers can read and export, or in its own format?
  4. Which pricing unit applies to you (seats, runs, credits or a service quote), and how does it grow with your suite?
  5. Can the vendor show a failed run from its own documentation with the artefacts your team needs to decide on a release?
